As a newcomer to Kingston and Queen's University, the start of the school year and the enthusiastic dynamism associated with the arrival of new and returning students from around the world remind me what we value in our institutions and how they contribute to the life of our community. Kingston is home to three distinctive and widely recognized post-secondary institutions; we have every reason to be proud and should consider ourselves fortunate.

Queen’s University is receiving $750,000 from the federal government to help small- and medium-sized businesses in southern Ontario bring promising new products to the marketplace faster.

Thanks to the foresight of its founding partners (Province of Ontario, Queen’s University, Novelis), Innovation Park has quickly become Kingston’s key gathering place and technology hub for organizations at the forefront of driving research, innovation, commercialization and economic development activities and investments.

Dr. Steven N. Liss, a microbiologist and the current Associate Vice-President (Research) at the University of Guelph, has been appointed Queen’s new Vice-Principal (Research) effective September 1.
